Polymer80 Forged 80% Lower Receiver – Raw Aluminum
Your Build, Your Finish. Start with a True Blank Canvas.
Made in the USA

This is the one you’ve been asking for. Our original, mil-spec forged 80% lower, now offered straight from the machine with no finish applied. What you’re getting is a solid, unforged 7075-T6 aluminum lower receiver in its purest form. The “Raw” means it’s ready for your hands, your tools, and most importantly, your vision.
We ship these with a light machine oil to prevent surface oxidation, so it might feel a bit slick when you unbox it. Wipe it down with some degreaser and you’re looking at a perfect, uncoated starting point. The metal has a consistent machined texture—ideal for holding paint, cerakote, or any other coating you plan on applying.
Why Choose a Raw 80% Lower?
If you’re here, you already know the benefits of an 80% lower: the pride of completion, the customization, the understanding of your firearm from the ground up. Choosing the raw version takes that a step further.
- No Finish to Fight: You don’t need to media blast or chemically strip an existing anodized layer. Your chosen coating bonds directly to the bare aluminum.
- Perfect for Custom Camo: Want to do a professional multi-layer cerakote camo job? Or maybe a rattle-can pattern in your garage? This is the ideal starting surface. No dark color peeking through light paint.
- Experiment & Personalize: Always wanted to try a mottled bronze finish? A distressed “battleworm” look? A simple, clean matte black you apply yourself? This lower is your test bed and your masterpiece.
- Patina is an Option: Some builders like the way bare aluminum ages and develops a unique character with use. You can always clear-coat it later to lock in a look.
Beyond the missing finish, this is the same proven, reliable forged lower we’ve sold for years. It’s not a different part; we just skipped the final anodizing step and passed the savings and the creative control directly to you.
Specifications & What You Need to Know
This isn’t a “stripped” lower; it’s an 80% lower receiver. That means it requires machining to complete the fire control pocket and other cavities before it can function as a firearm receiver. You will need a jig, a router or drill press, and the appropriate tooling. It is not a firearm and is sold with no serial number or background check required (subject to state/local laws).
Compatibility
Designed for standard AR-15 platforms. Works with 5.56 NATO / .223 Remington, 300 AAC Blackout, 6.5 Grendel, and other calibers using a standard AR-15 magazine and bolt carrier group.
Construction
Forged 7075-T6 Aluminum. This is the same tough, aerospace-grade alloy used by the military and major OEMs. It’s stronger than 6061. We don’t cut corners on material.
Fitment & Features
100% Mil-Spec dimensions. This ensures proper fit with any standard AR-15 upper receiver, parts kits, and magazines. Includes a broached magwell for smooth magazine insertion and release, and is clearly marked with Fire and Safe engravings.
Finish & Color
Raw, Uncoated Aluminum. Color is the natural silver-gray of machined 7075-T6. Minor machining marks may be visible—this is normal for an unfinished part and will typically be covered by your final finish.
The Bottom Line for Builders
At $49.49, this is one of the most cost-effective ways to get a forged 7075-T6 lower into your workshop. You’re paying for the solid forging and precise machining, not a finish you might just remove anyway.
This raw lower is for the builder who sees the process as part of the product. It’s for the hobbyist who wants total control over the final appearance, or the practical shooter who wants a durable, functional receiver and plans to coat it themselves. It’s straightforward, it’s honest, and it gets the job done.
Note: Because it’s unanodized, bare aluminum can oxidize or develop surface discoloration (like fingerprints) if left untreated in certain environments. We recommend applying your chosen protective finish in a reasonable timeframe after completing the machining.
